Why can't I send a message on GettingOut? ›

You must be signed into your GO (GettingOut) account to send and receive internal messages. The inmate receives internal messages the next time they sign in to the system. Note: All messages must be approved by the facility before they can be posted.

JPay's Email service provides a way for friends and family to write electronic letters to an incarcerated loved one. Most incarcerated individuals receive their email within 24 to 48 hours, and many can respond electronically as well.

We generally pay between $0.01 and $0.03 per minute of tablet use; free people who message us pay more. Each message Faye sends me costs $0.25, whether it's a one-word text or a picture of her twin daughters playing volleyball. To add $15 to her account, she must pay a fee of $3.81.

Network Issues: Either your network or the recipient's network might be experiencing issues. Ensure both of you have a stable connection. Blocked Number: The recipient may have blocked your number, which prevents your texts from being delivered.

Make sure that your phone line is turned on. If you use multiple SIMs, make sure that the phone number you want to use is selected and turned on. In the Settings app, tap Messages. Turn iMessage off and then back on.

Penmate is a trustworthy app that works great. I was happy to see that they print your emails and photos and actually mail them to the inmate. A physical letter and photos they can hold and keep is far better that electronic communications they can only see on a device. An actual letter feels more personal.

JPay does not have access to an incarcerated individual's account balance or transaction activity. Will the incarcerated individual know who sent him/her the funds? In most states, the incarcerated individual is notified as to who sent the money. In other states, this information is not available.

Messages are sent and received from your eMessaging inbox from this website or on the Securus mobile app. eMessages are paid for by purchasing a book of 'stamps'. Stamp pricing varies by facility. Once you select your incarcerated individual the stamp price will be shown.

If you don't hear back from the inmate right away it's because every message has to be approved before you get a response. Check the horn notification icon in top right-hand corner to see if the message is pending for approval.

What does "approved" mean on GettingOut? ›

Directly under the photo, within the 'chat view,' a status is displayed. If a status of 'Approved' is displayed then the photo was accepted by the facility and available for your contact to view.

It could be that the texts are going to a premium rate number and some network providers don't allow them unless it's down in your contract you may have with them. Try settings, apps, the 3 dot menu, special access, tap “Use Premium Text Message Services.”
